Hello, my name is Gordon Smoak. I live in
Tanzania with my parents Richard and Pam Smoak. I
was born on the 2nd of February, 1988; we
were appointed missionaries in December of that same
year, so needless to say I have been an MK all of my
life.
Some people feel sorry for me because I live so far
away from home, but this is home, I just feel sorry
for them because they don’t have the experiences
that I do. The truth is, I wouldn’t trade my life
in Africa for anything in the world. Tanzania, and
the things I have learned here, has prepared me for
life better than anything else could have.
I have many hobbies and
interest. My main hobby is making miniature
models, in the last 8 years I have made over sixty
models. Everything from ships to tanks to planes
but my favorite is model cars. I also collect
knifes, my collection currently holds around thirty
knifes, two swords and one spear. One of the
highlights is a World War 2 Italian bayonet. I
love to read, any book will do but I especially like big
coffee table books, I have read fifteen or twenty cover
to cover. One of my latest interests is digitally
modify pictures on my computer.
My future plans include attending Bible School in
Johannesburg South Africa, then going to Louisiana
Tech University for an engineering degree. After
that only God knows and I pray that he will guide my
life decisions.
