Howzzit, my name
is Joseph "Ryan" Smith and I'm 19 years old. I hail
from the most South Western corner of South Africa
known as Capetown. Black and charcoal gray are my
favorite colors but I'm also partial to dark greens
and blues.
I first set foot
on the mission field when I was 7 years old. We
went to Bophuthatswana to help Sis. Wilma Ruth Nix
on the AIM program. I've been an APK (assistant
pastors kid), an EK (Evangelist kid) as well as an
MK. I can't cover things up so I must say its not
always been easy being an MK. God has been good to
me and I have seen amazing things and met great
people and had good times.
As far as hobbies
go I have quite a few. I enjoy reading, listening
to music, playing video games, building things
(taking things apart too), and playing my bass. I
collect swords and other martial arts weapons. I'm
trying to teach myself to use them but I am better
with my fist. I like detective novels but they have
to be good ones (Agatha Christie is the best). I
don't like to be able to figure it all out from the
beginning. My favorite genre of music is
instrumental JAZZ.
I am currently in
my second year of school at Christian Life College
in Stockton, California. I am working on a degree
in Theology at the present but don't know exactly
what I will end up doing. I am still waiting on
God! I live on campus and work for the college to
help with my tuition.
I got to spend the
summer in Capetown with my parents and brothers and
it was awesome to NOT have to do my own laundry and
have ALL the food I wanted.
See you around the
next bend. Cheers for now!
