Louis and Rosemary Louw

Namibia South Africa

Louis and Rosemary Louw began their missionary service in 1978, as furlough replacements for Bro. and Sis. Charles Abernathy.  They returned to South Africa for a term, then received their appointment as pioneer missionaries to Namibia in May, 1984.

Bro Louw describes his work as "evangelism, church planting, developing evangelistic and training literature in indigenous languages, building churches and the Bible School."  Likewise, the Louws have taken the gospel to the Kavango tribe and reached out to Angolan expatriates and refugees.

The Louws returned to Namibia in August, 2001.  They were not able to renew their resident permits and are presently working in Namibia and South Africa while residing in South Africa.

Louis and Rosemary have two children, Bethany and Jonathan, both living in the US.  Bethany was born in California, and first came to Africa at ten weeks old.  Jonathan was born in South Africa.  During their time in Namibia, they developed a children's ministry outreach called "Christ in Kids," visiting schools, hospitals, and anywhere they could find an open door to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Bethany is a full-time student at the San Francisco Academy of Arts University, studying photojournalism.  Jonathan and Bethany both attended Christian Life College for two years, working towards their AA degree.  Jonathan recently married Thea Smith who is South African.  The couple life in the San Francisco area.
