Reaching Africa's Children:

God’s Word makes it clear that our children are part of His plan. His promise is for them too (Acts 2: 38-39). The vision of reaching our children includes the following:

1) Implanting a burden for the souls of children in the hearts of Africa’s adults.

2) Training leaders to be aware of the great harvest field of children (48% of Africa’s total population is under the age of 15 years) ready for reaping. (Don’t wait until they are older – harvest is ready NOW.)

3) Training Africans to use the materials readily available to reach their children. (Don’t wait for supplies from overseas, use what you already have.)

4) Opening doors of opportunity for ministry to children at all levels of the church – national, regional, and local. (Organization of Sunday schools and children’s ministry throughout every nation.)

5) Opening doors of opportunity for ministry to children during all major events of the church. (Organize separate children’s services during conferences, retreats, revivals, etc.)

6) Training Africans to make their own lessons using the Bible as textbook.

7) Training Africans to make lessons fitting the needs of each individual age group.

8) Using every available opportunity to touch the lives of children as we move from place to place in each country.

This can be done in several different ways:

* Sunday school classes – taught under trees, outside porches, canopies, or grass shelters.

* Bible quizzing – taught and encouraged with Scripture memorization in every assembly.

* Worship services with children separate from adult worship.

* Prayer services with children, teaching them that God listens to every prayer.

 We can make God’s Word ALIVE in Africa’s children!

Reaching Africa’s Children

For Sis. Vicki Simoneaux (South/Central Africa), Sis. Paula Richardson (East Africa) and Sis. Linda Poitras (West Africa), reaching Africa’s children is a must. Their efforts have combined to form the committee leading Africans, AIMers, and other missionaries to share this burden.

Their vision involves providing relevant materials, training teachers, and encouraging development of lessons and ideas that reach all ages of children – from infancy to adulthood. This is done through Sunday school, Bible quizzing, children’s worship services, and prayer meetings.

Together, we can make God’s Word ALIVE in Africa’s children!
